Portrait of an artist - Natalie Rowe

Today's Art Fayre artist is Natalie Rowe of Apple Hill, Ontario.

Natalie is a graphic designer and musician by training. She graduated from the University of Toronto in 1987 with a Bachelor of Music degree, and George Brown College in 1990 with an Honours Design Diploma. She has been running her own design business, Grinning Gecko Design, since 1994.

Usually Natalie makes rug-hooked wall-hangings for Art Fayre, but this year she's returned to her first love, coloured-pencil drawing...

She has also produced some mixed-media pieces using pen & ink and acrylic paint on translucent vellum, hand-stitched with embroidery floss to a needle-felted background.

Georgiana Resplendent

Beaker Dreams of the Ladies

More of her coloured-pencil work can be seen in the children's book Katie of the Sonoran Desert.

Natalie and the 17 other participating artists look forward to seeing you at Art Fayre this Saturday and Sunday at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum in Dunvegan, Ontario. The museum is just an hour west of Montreal, an hour east of Ottawa, and about an hour north of the Cornwall, Ontario border crossing. Please join us for a weekend of fantastic art, and help support the museum in its 50th anniversary year!

  1. My Dearest,

In the vast expanse of this bustling world, our paths have crossed, if only for a fleeting moment. Yet, in that brief encounter, a spark ignited—a gentle warmth that lingers within me.

Your smile, like the sun breaking through storm clouds, has brightened my day in ways words struggle to convey. Your kindness, a beacon of hope in a sea of uncertainties, has touched a chord deep within my soul.

Though our meeting was brief and our futures unknown, I find myself replaying our conversation, savoring the melody of your laughter, and cherishing the genuine connection we shared. It is a beautiful reminder that amidst life's chaos, there exists a beauty in human connection that transcends time and space.

If fate permits, may our paths cross again, weaving our stories together in the tapestry of life. Until then, know that you have left an indelible mark on my heart—a reminder of the simple joys and the profound beauty that love, in its myriad forms, can bring.

With heartfelt admiration and a hope for serendipitous reunions,

    OLEKSANDR J
